Policies 2025-2026

At Dance Moves of Charleston, we are deeply grateful for the trust you place in us to nurture and guide your dancer’s journey. To ensure a smooth, supportive, and organized experience for everyone, we have established the following policies. These policies allow us to maintain the highest quality instruction while fostering a positive and structured environment.

Potty Training

We kindly ask that all dancers be fully potty trained and bathroom independent before participating in any Dance Moves of Charleston activities. This ensures a safe and comfortable experience for both your child and our staff. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in preparing your little one for class.

Tuition Policies

To keep our studio running smoothly, we require an up-to-date payment method on file in your online account. If one is not provided, we will kindly request that you add one before classes begin. We accept:

  • Credit or debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) with a 2.5% processing fee

  • ACH routing numbers (no fees apply)

  • Cash and checks (no fees apply)

Payment Details:

  • Tuition is due on the 1st of every month from August (prorated) through May for the school year and paid in full for the Summer session.

  • If tuition or any open balances remain unpaid by the 15th, your payment method on file will be automatically charged, even if you are not enrolled in auto-draft. This applies to tuition, fees, apparel sales, and other balances.

  • A $15 late fee will be applied to all unpaid tuition if payment is declined or unsuccessful on the 15th. Dancers will not be able to attend class until the balance is paid.

  • Tuition is an evenly distributed amount over the school year and is not prorated, except for August. It remains the same regardless of holidays or closures.

We are unable to offer credits, refunds, or prorating for missed classes due to holidays, vacations, illness, pandemics, state-wide closures, or weather. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to your dancer’s growth.

Registration Fees:

  • A non-refundable registration fee is required for each student in the school-year season: $40 for the first dancer, $20 for each additional dancer in the family.

  • Families receive one 10% discount per household, which applies to dancers taking multiple classes or siblings.

Roll-Over Registration (School Year Only August - May)
Studios Only, Traveling Programs Do Not Roll Over

To simplify the registration process, all enrolled dancers are automatically registered for the next school year season. This means if your child is enrolled for 2024-2025, they will be pre-enrolled for 2025-2026 based on class recommendations.

  • There is no roll-over registration for Summer.

  • Families have a two-week drop/add period and are not obligated to continue. We will not charge your account until we receive confirmation from you or the deadline has passed. Ample reminders will be sent.

Sickness Policy

The well-being of our dancers and staff is a top priority. If your child is feeling unwell, we kindly ask that they stay home to rest and recover.

  • If a child arrives at the studio showing signs of illness, we will contact a parent for immediate pickup. Thank you for helping us maintain a healthy dance environment for all!

Dress Code

To ensure dancers can move safely and confidently, we have a required dress code. Please [click here] to review the requirements for your child’s class. We offer limited dancewear in the studio and have an online store for your convenience. Shoe fittings are available by appointment.

Make-Up Policy

We understand that life happens! Each dancer may take up to two make-up classes per class per semester.

  • Make-up classes must be scheduled within the same semester as the missed class.

  • All make-up classes must be pre-scheduled through the studio office.

  • Missed make-up classes still count toward the maximum allowance.

  • Summer Camp days are not eligible for make-up classes.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up

  • Drop-off occurs 5 minutes before class at the front doors, where a staff member will welcome your child.

  • All classes are DROP OFF, and Parents are not allowed to stay in the dance room. Spot TV is available, and you can still watch all classes right from the app on your phone.

  • Pick-up takes place inside the studio at the classroom.

  • Preschool and Levels I-II dancers must be picked up by an adult inside the studio.

  • Level III and up may leave without an adult if a signed waiver is on file.

  • Please ensure dancers are picked up no later than 5 minutes after class ends.

Cancellations, Refunds & Account Credit

School-Year Classes:

  • A two-week notice is required for class withdrawals before the next tuition cycle. (e.g., if dropping in November, notify us by October 15.)

  • If a payment is processed before we receive notice, no refunds will be issued.

  • Account credits expire 12 months after being issued.

Summer Classes & Camps:

  • Summer class fees are due at enrollment and are non-refundable.
